England, poor old England – I

Has Boris Johnson, who must have understood that Brexit will produce great hardship for the population, decided to kill off the frail and the poor?

Johnson’s administration has produced 44,500 Corona dead. Five times as many as Germany (the per capita figure is even higher at 6.2) and they still haven’t gotten their act together. 

Yesterday, in the supermarket, I was amazed to be the only person wearing a mask. The UK made wearing masks compulsory in public transport as late as 15 June and it still is not compulsory to wear masks in shops. A couple of hours ago, Downing Street has announced that it is “considering mandatory face masks in shops in England”. What morons. 

And if you are unwell in England – tough luck. Seeing one’s GP is almost impossible. Unlike Germany, where you can, if necessary, walk-in to see a GP (with masks and keeping distance etc.) – here you must ring the GP practice, convince the receptionist that you need to talk to a doctor. A few hours later a doctor will ring you back, discuss the matter with you, ask you to send a photo of the problem, upon which you are told what ointment you might take.

Sad. 

England – impoverished II

Warwick University has calculated that leaving the EU without a deal would increase the weekly shopping bill of an average four-people-household by over £50. The British retail consortium has calculated that a no-deal-Brexit would result in an increase of beef prices by 48% and even Cheddar, much of which is imported from Ireland, by 57%.

Those who voted for Brexit have rightfully earned the misery, which Brexit will bring. Shame about the others.

Foreigners carrying dangerous viruses

To deliver BREXIT, Britain’s EU-phobic population, elected a prime minister who paraded his ineptitude for government by totally mishandling the COVID pandemic. To date the UK has more than 640 Corona deaths per one million, compared to Italy’s 570, France’s 440, Netherlands’ 350, and Germany’s 110. Well done Boris! Well done Britain!

Now, the population, which was sold lies about money flows to Brussels and EU control of British life, is being warned of the dangers lurking from foreigners carrying dangerous viruses. The British Home Secretary, Priti Patel, explained:

««Now we are past the peak of this virus, we must take steps to guard against imported cases, triggering a resurgence of this deadly disease... imported cases could begin to pose a larger and increased threat... they could become a higher proportion of the overall number of infections in the UK and therefore increase the spread of the disease. So, with far fewer people being infected in this country and the public having worked so hard to bring the R number down, any new arrivals entering the country with the disease during this next phase will have a much bigger impact – potentially causing a second wave.««

And so, starting this month, the UK introduced a 14-day quarantine for anyone coming from abroad.

The passionate anti-European, 48-year-old Priti Patel, was born in London to Ugandan-Indian parents who emigrated to the UK from Uganda in the 1960s. Before switching to a political career, Patel worked as a lobbyist for the tobacco and alcohol industries.

The current girlfriend of the loudmouth, who was elected by the British to be their (our) prime-minister, has given birth to his sixth(?) child.  

I do not understand why this elitist playboy, who with his lies has manipulated just about enough Britons to vote pro-Brexit and to take Britain out of the EU, should be congratulated for anything – except possibly, for an unlikely resignation.

Protocol probably requires, that other politicians have to congratulate in such cases. It may be understandable, that his own minister of health, Matt Hancock, should sycophantly twitter his excitement and speak of ”a moment of unalloyed joy”. But why, in-god’s name, does the leader of the opposition, the new leader of the Labour party, Sir Keir Starmer, have to speak of “wonderful news”? What is so wonderful for the nation, that the man, whose irresponsible behaviour is also but not only exemplified by the fact the exact number of his in- and out-of-wedlock children is unknown, has just fathered yet another child?
