Barber – Komische Oper – Kirill Serebrennikov

Went to Komische Oper’s Barber of Seville, earlier this evening. Anyone who is in Berlin – GO.

I would not normally have gone to a performance of this opera, which I find rather boring. Bless Facebook – someone posted that Süddeutsche Zeitung had a raving review. So I got a ticket and loved it. It is an opera buffa, aptly performed at Berlin’s Komische Oper and the Russian director, Kirill Serebrennikov, definitely makes you laugh, a lot. But he also makes you think, which is unusual in the Barber of Seville.

Try to see it, if you can.
