Sicily IV – Bread

They make wonderful bread in Sicily – unusual for Italy, where it is rather difficult to get hold of decent bread. Wherever we ate, the bread that was served in restaurants was delicious.

I have yet to find out what the secret is.

  1. Perhaps you've forgotten that Sicily was once reigned by german nobility. You remember Friedrich II., stupor mundi, well known for his thirst for knowledge and his ability to combine all cultures? So the origin of this bread may have been german, :-)
